Suzanne Weathers is the founder and principal of Weathers & Associates Consulting. With more than 20 years in the tax industry, she found her professional calling in tax controversy and resolution—helping individuals, families, and business owners navigate some of the most financially stressful periods of their lives with clarity, strategy, and practical solutions.
Over the last decade, Weathers & Associates has built its practice around the belief that tax problems are rarely just about numbers. Behind every IRS notice, unfiled return, or collection issue is a person trying to find stability, direction, and a path forward.
“When I decided to open my own practice, I knew we had to approach this work differently. The goal was never simply to process cases. It was to create a practice grounded in professionalism, compassion, and long-term problem solving.”
Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, Weathers & Associates Consulting continues to expand that mission by combining technical tax expertise with taxpayer education and public outreach. In addition to representing clients before the IRS, the firm is developing in-person workshops and educational programs designed to help taxpayers better understand the IRS collection process, their responsibilities under federal tax law, and the options available to resolve tax debt.
The firm’s educational approach is grounded in authoritative sources including the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury Regulations, Internal Revenue Manual, and United States Tax Court guidance, while remaining approachable and understandable for everyday taxpayers.
“Many people delay addressing tax problems because they feel overwhelmed or intimidated by the process. Education helps change that. When people understand how the system works, they are better prepared to make informed decisions and take meaningful action.”
Weathers & Associates primarily provides tax resolution services for individuals and businesses, along with tax preparation and compliance support. The firm also partners with local accounting and financial professionals, including Attorney’s, CPAs, bookkeepers, and financial advisors—who require experienced assistance with complex tax controversy matters but do not maintain an in-house resolution team.
As the practice enters its next chapter, the mission remains unchanged: helping people solve tax problems with professionalism, dignity, and a clear plan forward.
